- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.
Pope Leo XIV will conduct a South American tour from November 8 to 11, visiting Argentina, Uruguay, and Peru. The Vatican confirmed the pontiff will carry out a 12 day tour of the region, visiting a dozen cities. This marks a return to Argentina for Robert Francis Prevost, who visited the country at least twice between 2001 and 2013 while serving as the superior general of the Order of Saint Augustine. During a two week visit in August 2004, Prevost participated in the Augustinian Congress of Theology, inaugurated the Augustinian Library in Buenos Aires, and celebrated mass with Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the future Pope Francis. He also visited the provinces of Salta, Tucumán, Catamarca, and Mendoza. In 2013, Prevost returned to Argentina for the ordination of Monsignor Alberto Bochatey as auxiliary bishop of La Plata.
