Prashant Kishor Pledges 10,000 Jobs for Bankipur Youth

Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party and newly elected MLA for Bankipur, announced on Tuesday that he will ensure at least 10,000 jobs for the youth of his assembly segment within the next two years. During a visit to the constituency following his byelection victory, Kishor urged educated but unemployed youth to submit their resumes to his office. He stated that he would leverage his national contacts to secure these positions both within Bihar and across India.

Beyond employment, Kishor promised to improve the quality of government schools within one year. He pledged that if this goal is not met, he will take personal responsibility for the fees of children attending private schools. He also committed to ensuring that eligible citizens receive their full ration of grain and that seniors over 60 receive their social security pensions.

Reports on the event differ in their focus. A center left source emphasized Kishor's claims that his victory has already shifted the state's political discourse from police encounters to education and employment, while noting his assertion that the leadership style of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has changed. A center right source focused more on the logistical nature of the job promises and included Kishor's condemnation of police actions against protesting students in Delhi and Jharkhand.
