- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
President Vladimir Putin announced a reshuffle of Russia's military command on August 5, naming Colonel General Denis Lyamin as the head of the newly established Unmanned Systems Forces. Putin described Lyamin as one of the most qualified specialists for the role and tasked him with completing the formation of the drone branch. Lyamin previously served as the chief of staff for the Tsentr grouping.
As part of the broader restructuring, Colonel General Valery Solodchuk, the former head of the Tsentr grouping, was appointed to lead the Combined Rear Services to concentrate military logistics in one set of hands. Colonel General Andrey Ivanayev, who previously led the Vostok grouping, was named the new commander of the Tsentr grouping. Major General Pyotr Bolgarev was appointed as the acting commander of the Vostok grouping.
Center and center right sources framed the move as a refinement of military structure to adapt to the needs of the war in Ukraine, noting the dominance of drones in the conflict. A center left source framed the reshuffle by highlighting the controversial backgrounds of the appointees, noting that Solodchuk has been accused of involvement in the 2022 killings of civilians in Bucha and mentioning that Lyamin replaced a predecessor who was imprisoned on fraud charges after criticizing leadership.
