Putin Issues Veiled Threat Regarding British Military Sites

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that it is a military secret whether Russia is considering strikes on British military sites. The comment came during a press conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where Putin was asked about Russia's response to British arms supplies to Ukraine. Putin further asserted that any military facilities in Ukraine, whether British or otherwise, are legitimate targets. These warnings follow the UK government's decision to provide Ukraine with blueprints for the Scalp missile, a French version of the British Storm Shadow cruise missile, to enable Ukraine to produce its own version. Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that Britain and France are playing with fire by supplying this sensitive technology. Prime Minister Andy Burnham responded by questioning who started the fire, referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and vowed that the UK would continue its support for Kyiv. Tensions have also risen following reports that drones made by two British companies were used to attack targets in Russia, including oil refineries in Volgograd and near Moscow. In a broader context, Putin described Western countries as sharks and stated that Russia is ready to punch them in the teeth if they try to drag Russia down the food chain. During the same press conference, Putin expressed confidence in victory and stated he is comfortable working with Donald Trump's envoys, specifically mentioning Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. Meanwhile, UK officials are focusing on disrupting Russian financial networks used to evade sanctions, with John Healey announcing actions against the A7 network.
