River Plate Agrees to Sign Left Back Francisco Ortega from Olympiakos

River Plate has reached an agreement with the Greek club Olympiakos for the transfer of 27 year old left back Francisco Ortega. The deal is valued at 5 million euros, and the player is expected to sign a contract running until December 2029. Ortega, who began his professional career at Velez Sarsfield, spent three seasons in Greece where he played 107 official matches, scoring one goal and providing eight assists while winning four titles. He is set to arrive in Argentina between Wednesday and Thursday for a medical examination and official signing.

Ortega marks the eighth reinforcement for manager Eduardo Coudet during the current transfer window.
