Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Argentine footballer Leonel Jaime has secured his stay at Peñarol until June 2027 after meeting a contractual playing time requirement. The 20 year old, who joined the Uruguayan club on loan from River Plate, surpassed the 360 minute threshold that would have otherwise allowed River Plate to repesca, or reclaim, him in December 2026. This milestone was reached following a standout performance in a 2 to 1 victory against Central Español in the second round of the Torneo Clausura 2026, where Jaime recorded both a goal and an assist.
Peñarol manager Diego Aguirre praised the winger as a determinant player, describing him as bold and a source of joy for the team. Jaime, who had limited playing time under Eduardo Coudet at River Plate, has recorded two goals and five assists in five matches. Following the game, Jaime noted the physical nature of the Uruguayan league, stating that opponents play hard and hit strong.
Peñarol president Ignacio Ruglio explained that the loan agreement included specific conditions to ensure the player did not lose value. The contract stipulated that Jaime must start ten matches in a year to avoid a financial penalty for Peñarol. Having now met the minute requirement, the club has confirmed that the player will remain with them through the first half of 2027.
