Roberto Vannacci Positions Futuro Nazionale as Natural Ally to Center Right

Roberto Vannacci, leader of the Futuro Nazionale party, stated during an appearance on the Rete4 program È sempre Cartabianca that his movement is the natural interlocutor for the center right alliance, which he described as faded. Vannacci asserted that while he is open to discussion with forces that share his non negotiable principles and values, he does not see himself speaking with political figures such as Schlein, Bonelli, or Fratoianni. When asked about Giorgia Meloni, Vannacci praised her charisma and capabilities, suggesting she could be an excellent president of the Republic and noting that her candidacy for the Quirinale is a possible eventuality for his support.

During the same broadcast, Vannacci addressed an article from the Financial Times that cited an analysis by the European Council on Foreign Relations. The report characterized Vannacci as a Russian Trojan horse in Italy, pointing to his criticisms of Italian support for Ukraine and his suggestions to stop providing weapons and money to the country to lower fuel prices. Vannacci rejected these claims, stating that he is pro Italian rather than pro Russian. In a social media response to the Financial Times, he mocked the idea that complaining about fuel prices constitutes a conspiracy with the FSB.

Vannacci also commented on potential foreign interference in Italian elections. He stated that attempts by foreign powers to condition votes are not new and occur within their respective spheres of influence. He added that such influences or pressures are normal as long as they remain legal.
