Rumesh Pathirage Wins Commonwealth Games Javelin Gold in Glasgow

Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a throw of 89.75 metres. This mark secured Sri Lanka's first gold medal in athletics. India's Neeraj Chopra took the silver medal with a season best of 85.83 metres, while India's Yash Vir Singh claimed the bronze medal with a personal best of 85.41 metres.
