- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Russia launched a large scale ballistic missile attack on Kyiv and its surrounding region early Wednesday, resulting in at least 15 deaths and dozens of injuries. Ukrainian authorities reported that the assault hit more than seven sites in the capital, causing fires in warehouses and damaging residential infrastructure. In the Kyiv region, 14 people were killed and 27 injured. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that search and rescue operations continued to find victims under rubble and that an ammonia leak occurred during the strikes. Ukraine has since urged allies for more Patriot missile interceptors to protect its airspace.
Simultaneously, Ukraine conducted drone strikes deep inside Russian territory. Attacks targeted the Moscow region, where five people were killed in the Novoselki industrial zone, and the Tula region, where a warehouse belonging to the e-commerce giant Wildberries caught fire. Ukrainian forces have targeted 15 Wildberries warehouses in recent weeks. In Belgorod, drones attacked a building at the Technological University that students claim was used for drone assembly and operator training. Additionally, a drone strike on a Black Sea resort in Russia killed seven people, including four children.
Separate incidents highlighted the use of drones against individuals. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released footage of a Russian drone pursuing a 52 year old vegetable seller in Kherson before detonating and wounding him. Zelenskyy described the incident as a drone safari and a war crime. Meanwhile, Turkey expressed concern over the escalation in the Black Sea after reporting that two of its ships were attacked by drones, wounding crew members.
Other developments include reports of a clash between Iranian and Ukrainian interests in the Caspian Sea. Ukrainian drones reportedly targeted ships suspected of transporting Iranian weapons to Russia, leading to warnings from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that such actions would not remain unanswered.
