Russia Condemns Polish Prime Minister Over Nord Stream Bombing Comments

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called on Germany to drop its prosecution of suspects involved in the 2022 bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. Tusk stated that those who built the pipeline should be ashamed rather than those who shut it down, noting that Poland had long opposed the project due to Europe's dependence on Russian gas. The comments follow the detention in Croatia of Volodymyr Zhuravlev, a diving instructor and Ukrainian citizen suspected by German authorities of being part of a group that placed explosives on the pipeline. Zakharova further alleged that Poland is benefiting from the re-export of U.S. liquefied natural gas to Ukraine while Germany faces economic deindustrialization due to high energy costs.
