A Russian drone struck a passenger train locomotive at the Yahodyn station in northwestern Ukraine, approximately two kilometers from the border with Poland. The attack occurred shortly after a diplomatic train carrying high profile figures, including former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, had departed the station. Former CIA Director David Petraeus was present at the station during the strike. Ukrainian state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the train had 208 people on board and that no one was injured because the crew had been warned of the threat in advance. Polish authorities identified the weapon as a Geran 5 jet powered drone. The strike also coincided with a fire at a gasoline filling station near the Yahodyn and Dorohusk border crossing. In response, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated he cannot exclude the possibility of Russian escalation onto Polish territory. The Kremlin stated it targeted military cargo transport infrastructure and will continue operations across Ukraine.
