  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Russian forces launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones against Kyiv and surrounding regions overnight into Thursday, killing at least 16 people and wounding dozens more. Ukrainian authorities reported that the attack damaged residential buildings, a school, a kindergarten, and a children's hospital. In the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, the upper floors of a nine story residential building were destroyed, resulting in several deaths. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko declared Friday a day of mourning for the city. Ukraine's air force stated that Russia deployed 168 drones and dozens of missiles, noting that while most drones and cruise missiles were intercepted, ballistic missiles remained a critical threat. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the lack of Patriot interceptor missiles is costing lives, as these are the only weapons capable of stopping high speed ballistic strikes. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the strikes targeted military facilities, including drone component plants, a military depot, and a logistics hub. The conflict spilled over into neighboring territories: Romania reported a drone crashing in an uninhabited area and the destruction of an explosive laden sea drone near an offshore gas project by a Romanian F-16. Moldova also reported a violation of its airspace by a drone. Poland scrambled fighter jets as a preventive measure to protect its airspace. In response to the strikes, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the incidents in Romania as hybrid warfare and stated that providing anti ballistic capabilities to Ukraine is an urgent priority.
