At least nine people were killed and dozens more injured in a Russian ballistic missile and drone attack on Kyiv on August 1. Ukrainian officials reported that the strikes damaged residential buildings, a school, and the Lithuanian embassy, where missiles landed as close as 10 meters away. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that a five story residential building was partially destroyed, trapping people inside. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed the attack targeted military industrial complexes and logistics centers.
