- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Russian strikes killed six people and wounded dozens across Ukraine during overnight attacks on Thursday. In the eastern city of Balakliia, three people were killed when strikes hit homes. An additional three people were killed and at least 19 wounded in attacks on settlements in the northern region of Sumy. Ukrainian police reported that twelve more people were wounded in the city of Sumy following an attack with guided aerial bombs. In the southern region of Kherson, a drone attack on a van wounded six people.
In Sumy, a drone attack also hit the office of Save the Children. The organization reported that all staff are accounted for and office damage was limited. This follows a separate drone attack on Monday that caused significant damage to a Save the Children warehouse containing emergency relief supplies. Sonia Kush, the country director for Save the Children in Ukraine, stated that increasing and unpredictable attacks raise the risk of children being killed or traumatized and make it harder to deliver vital aid.
Both Russia and Ukraine deny targeting civilians in the conflict. While center reports focused on the casualty counts and the geographic spread of the strikes, center right reports emphasized the specific impact on humanitarian infrastructure and the resulting risks to children.
