A 20 year old Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) full time National Serviceman (NSF) died on Sunday, September 6, after being found unconscious while on duty. Lance Corporal Muhammad Nur Ilham Mohammed Iswadi was discovered at approximately 8.10am in the training yard of the Marina Bay Fire Station. SCDF personnel administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation before he was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital, where he passed away.
According to SCDF, LCP Muhammad Nur Ilham enlisted on February 10 and completed his firefighter course at the Civil Defence Academy on August 7. He had been posted to the Marina Bay Fire Station since August 18. Police investigations are ongoing, though preliminary findings indicate that police do not suspect foul play.
SCDF expressed sadness over the death and stated that they are providing necessary assistance and support to the family. Minister of State for Home Affairs Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim also offered condolences to the family and fellow officers, noting the demanding nature of front line work undertaken by SCDF personnel.
