Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.
A joint search team has yet to find eight people who went missing aboard a speedboat in the Sunda Strait off Pandeglang, Banten. The group, which includes five journalists and three crew members, lost contact on Monday at 3:04 p.m. while traveling to cover the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau. The missing journalists are identified as Muhammad Bagus Khoirunas of Antara, Arie Basuki of Merdeka, Yudistiro Pranoto of iNews, Daus of Anadolu Agency, and freelance photographer Donal Husni. They were accompanied by captain Warta, crew member Surakman, and guide Heriyanto.
On Wednesday, the search entered its second day. The operation involves the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the National Police, the Indonesian Navy, and other local agencies. Searchers expanded the area to the southwest of Anak Krakatau and into waters under the jurisdiction of the Basarnas Lampung office. The effort utilizes various vessels, including the KN SAR Tetuka 247, KRI Leuser, and KRI Lepu, as well as thermal drones.
Search personnel reported that Mount Anak Krakatau continued to release a thick plume of volcanic ash during the operation. Weather conditions were described as partly cloudy with waves between 0.4 and 1 meter. While the search intensifies, some reports indicate that ashfall in several surrounding areas has begun to ease.
