The state of Paraná is under alert for severe weather from Wednesday, October 9, through Friday, October 11. Forecasts indicate heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and hail. Wind gusts are expected to be significant, with one source reporting speeds that could exceed 80 km/h and another citing gusts above 60 km/h. The weather instability is attributed to a low pressure area over Paraguay, a cold front moving over southern Brazil, and the formation of an extratropical cyclone in Rio Grande do Sul.
