Singapore courts have processed several cases involving the sexual exploitation of minors, resulting in pleas of guilt and calls for suitability reports for specialized detention. In one case, a 39 year old man pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual penetration of a minor, two charges under the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act, and one charge of causing hurt. The prosecution described the man as a sexual predator who befriended a 14 year old girl via a mobile app and pressured her into threesomes with other men. The court has called for reports to assess if the man is suitable for corrective training or preventive detention. In a separate case, a 20 year old woman pleaded guilty to three charges including recruiting a person for exploitation and living on the earnings of prostitution. She is being assessed for reformative training after advertising the sexual services of two girls, aged 15 and 16, on Telegram. One of the clients in that case, 26 year old Syahirul Daud Abdul Razak, was sentenced to four weeks in jail for obtaining the sexual services of the 15 year old girl.
