- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every source for this story reports from Singapore.
More than 1,000 luxury items and over 80 real estate properties forfeited in Singapore's S$3 billion money laundering case will be sold through auctions and other sale methods starting in September. Deloitte, the firm appointed by the Singapore Police Force to manage the non-cash assets, announced that the liquidation process will occur in phases between September 2026 and mid 2027. All proceeds from the sales will be paid into the Consolidated Fund.
Luxury goods including jewellery, watches, and handbags will be sold via 15 online auctions managed by the auction house Hotlotz. The first two auctions open for bidding on September 7 at 10 a.m. and close on September 20 and September 27 respectively. These initial sales feature over 300 handbags and accessories from brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Christian Dior, as well as over 250 jewellery pieces from Graff, Bulgari, and Van Cleef and Arpels. Subsequent auctions will include Hermes handbags and watches from Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, and Rolex. Bidders must register and pass identity verification to participate, and physical viewings are available by appointment at Le Freeport in Changi.
Real estate assets will be auctioned by SRI, Edmund Tie and Company, and Knight Frank. Additionally, List International Realty will handle selected properties through an expression of interest process. The assets were seized following August 2023 raids that uncovered an illicit gambling ring based in Southeast Asia. The ten offenders, all originally from China, have been convicted and deported after serving their sentences.
Hotlotz chief executive Matt Elton stated that the goal is to sell the items in a transparent and objective manner to avoid sensationalism. Both reports maintain a neutral tone, though the center right source emphasizes the destination of the funds and the professional integrity of the liquidation process.
