Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Every source for this story reports from South Korea.

South Korea's import price index fell 2.4 percent on-month in August, marking the third consecutive monthly decline. According to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea, this trend follows a 1.0 percent dip in July and a 4.2 percent drop in June. The central bank attributed the decline to a 6.1 percent strengthening of the Korean won against the U.S. dollar, which helped offset a 15.6 percent monthly increase in the price of Dubai crude oil. While raw material prices rose 1.5 percent in August, intermediate goods prices dropped 4 percent. The Bank of Korea noted that import prices serve as a key driver of inflation because they influence production costs and consumer prices. Additionally, the August export price index fell 3.7 percent from the previous month, the sharpest decline since December 2022.
