South Korea's Fair Trade Commission (FTC) conducted an on-site inspection of Coupang's Seoul headquarters on Tuesday. According to industry sources, the probe focused on whether the U.S. listed company unfairly obstructed the business operations of other firms. Coupang cooperated with this specific investigation. This action follows a failed inspection attempt last month regarding allegations that Coupang shifted discount costs onto its suppliers. During that previous attempt, Coupang declined to cooperate by claiming it had not received proper notification as required by the Framework Act on Administrative Investigations. An FTC official declined to comment on the individual case.
