South Korean pianist Lim Yunchan has been nominated for the 2026 Gramophone Classical Music Awards in Britain, according to his agency, Moc Production. Lim is a finalist in the Piano category for his album "J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations," which was released in February and features a live recording of his sold out April 2025 performance at New York's Carnegie Hall. The Gramophone Classical Music Awards were launched in 1977 by the British magazine Gramophone and are considered among the most influential honors in the classical recording industry. In 2024, Lim became the first Korean to win a Gramophone award, earning the Piano Award for his album "Chopin: Etudes" and the Young Artist of the Year prize. The 2026 ceremony is scheduled for October 7 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
