STF President Fachin Requested to Lift All Secrecy in Master Case Following PGR and Justice Moraes Protests

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGR) has requested that Supreme Federal Court (STF) President Edson Fachin lift the secrecy of all documents related to the Master case. The PGR argued that the list of documents previously released by Justice André Mendonça omitted a significant portion of procedures linked to the broader investigation known as Operation Compliance Zero. The PGR stated that this partial release could create a false impression of transparency. The request was signed by Vice-Prosecutor General Hindenburgo Chateaubriand Filho rather than Prosecutor General Paulo Gonet. Some reports note that Gonet's participation in the case has been questioned due to his own communications with banker Daniel Vorcaro.

Justice Alexandre de Moraes also petitioned President Fachin for the full opening of the proceedings. Moraes criticized Mendonça for what he called a selective removal of secrecy, claiming that 180 documents and digital files remained hidden. Justice Cristiano Zanin similarly requested access to specific media from the case to analyze pending requests. These developments follow a decision by Justice Mendonça to lift secrecy on the main investigations involving Banco Master and Daniel Vorcaro, while maintaining secrecy over other fronts. These include investigations into Senator Jaques Wagner and the financing of the film Dark Horse, which involves conversations between Vorcaro and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro.

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro has publicly supported Justice Mendonça's role as a judge and has requested that the secrecy regarding the investigation into his own dealings be lifted. He maintains that the funding for the film was a private sponsorship and that he has nothing to hide. One report indicates that President Fachin has since followed the PGR's request and asked for the complete lifting of secrecy in the case.
