- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
A series of rescues occurred in the aftermath of a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia. In the city of Cali, a dog was rescued from the rubble of a collapsed four story building after being trapped for over 100 hours. The operation was led by five members of the Animal Rescue Group from Belo Horizonte, consisting of veterinarians and civil firefighters, who worked for approximately 11 hours to extract the animal. The dog, referred to as Meli by one source and Salomon by another, survived due to a pocket of air. Other survivors have also been recovered, including a three year old girl and a 75 year old man.
Reports differ on the circumstances surrounding the dog's survival. Center leaning sources describe the event as a rescue operation by Brazilian specialists, while other center leaning sources frame the story as a tragedy where the dog's owner died while protecting the animal. One source reports that the dog's owner died along with her nephew in the disaster.
