Authorities in Freiburg have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for two separate knife attacks that occurred over several days. The suspect is suspected of attacking a 29 year old man on Sunday and a 74 year old man on Tuesday evening. The 74 year old victim was found lifeless on a parking lot in the Rieselfeld district and died from severe stab wounds despite medical intervention. The 29 year old victim was seriously injured during the first attack at Schlossbergring after having just met the suspect. Police recovered the suspected weapon near the scene of the second crime. The suspect was apprehended Tuesday evening and was scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday. The motive for the attacks remains unclear.
