- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
TCL has filed a lawsuit against Samsung in California for false advertising regarding three television models. The Chinese manufacturer alleges that Samsung marketed the M70H, M80H, and M90H models as Mini LED televisions despite their alleged lack of the components and functions associated with that technology. TCL claims that while Mini LED technology should allow for the independent control of small diode groups to improve contrast, the diodes in the disputed Samsung models are controlled as a single group and dim or light up in unison.
According to the lawsuit, TCL asserts that Samsung used a cheap model from a recycled product line and rebranded it as Mini LED. TCL further claims it surpassed Samsung in U.S. Mini LED sales volume in 2025 with a 32.7 percent market share compared to Samsung's 31.1 percent. The company attributes a subsequent rise in Samsung's sales to the release of the M series. These figures and the causal relationship remain allegations that have not been examined by the court.
Samsung stated in a communication that it intends to defend itself vigorously and stands by the quality and accuracy of its product descriptions. The company noted its 20 year history as the top television brand in the United States. TCL is seeking a ban on Samsung advertising these models as Mini LED, the publication of corrective advertising, and monetary compensation for damages and lost profits.
