- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

A 16 year old girl escaped an alleged kidnapping on Friday night in the Engenho de Dentro neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. Security camera footage shows the teenager leaving school around 8 p.m. with her backpack. She stopped next to a car with tinted windows, at which point she was pulled into the passenger side and the vehicle drove away. A second video clip shows the girl jumping from the moving car without her backpack, picking up an object from the ground, and running away.
The girl's father told SBT that she jumped when the suspect looked away. He noted that she suffered a scraped knee and hit her head during the fall. The 23rd Police Station in Méier is investigating the case and analyzing the security footage. Delegada Muriel Mendes stated that while the suspect's intentions are not yet confirmed, police are investigating the possibility of attempted rape. The officer issued a warning for children and adolescents to avoid approaching unknown vehicles.
