  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Three people, including a captain approximately 70 years old and two assistants, were confirmed dead after their spiny lobster fishing boat went missing off the coast of Miyazaki Prefecture in southwest Japan. The Japan Coast Guard recovered the bodies floating in the sea on Thursday after a local fishing association reported that the vessel had failed to return to port by 8:00 a.m. local time.

The Coast Guard is currently investigating the cause of the incident and continues to search for the missing vessel. Authorities noted that a wind alert was in effect for the area and waves were one meter high. The incident occurred amid warnings of strong swells caused by a typhoon approaching the southern islands of Japan, specifically Okinawa.
