At least three people died on Wednesday afternoon following a shooting at a high rise apartment building in downtown Minneapolis. One victim was killed at the scene, a second died at Hennepin County Medical Center, and the suspected shooter also died. While some reports state the shooter may have died from a self inflicted gunshot wound, police officials noted it was not immediately clear how the suspect died.

Three police officers were injured during the response. Two officers suffered gunshot wounds, including one to the leg, while a third was evaluated for a non life threatening injury. All three officers are reported to be in stable condition. Other civilians were also wounded; one source reported three additional civilians were shot and treated at a hospital.
