A homemade bomb carried by a woman killed three people and injured at least 21 others near an upscale Italian restaurant in central Moscow on Saturday evening. The explosion occurred shortly before 8 p.m. local time at the Balzi Rossi restaurant, which is located on the ground floor of one of the seven Stalin era skyscrapers at Kudrinskaya Square. The Kommersant daily newspaper reported that the bomb may have been intended for guests on the restaurant's summer terrace and suggested the device could have been detonated remotely without the woman's knowledge. Russian authorities have not yet named the victims or identified those responsible for the attack.
