TSE Minister Toffoli restores digital campaign and funding for Wilson Grassi

Minister Dias Toffoli of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) released the digital campaign of presidential candidate Wilson Grassi of the Democrata party on Wednesday. The decision reverses a suspension that had been in place since Sunday. In addition to restoring social media propaganda, Toffoli authorized the transfer of resources from the Electoral Fund and permitted Grassi to participate in debates across radio, television, and podcasts. The restrictions were originally imposed because the candidate failed to report social media profiles within the legal deadline; specifically, 16 accounts were reported 17 days after the candidacy registration. Electoral rules require candidates to disclose these channels to ensure fiscal oversight and prevent non-regularized profiles from benefiting from platform recommendation algorithms. Toffoli noted that the necessary diligences had been completed, though the profiles will remain excluded from recommendation systems. A similar measure was recently applied and then reversed for presidential candidate Renan Santos of the Missão party.
