- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced on Monday that Djamel Djeha and Mehdi Laribi, two alleged drug traffickers linked to the DZ Mafia criminal organization, have been placed in provisional detention in Algeria. The arrests occurred in recent weeks following warrants issued by magistrates in Marseille. Djamel Djeha, 46, was arrested on August 3 as part of the Empire investigation, while 36 year old Abdelatif Mehdi Laribi was arrested on July 20 as part of the Octopus investigation. Darmanin thanked Algerian judicial authorities for their collaboration in the fight against narcotics trafficking. The arrests follow a recent visit by Darmanin to Alger, which marked a resumption of judicial cooperation between the two nations, as they do not have an extradition agreement.
