Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Two Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Members of the Legislative Council, Tata Madhu and Naveen Kumar Reddy, were arrested and subsequently suspended from the Legislative Council for the remainder of the session. The actions follow alleged derogatory and unparliamentary remarks made by the members against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on September 7, 2026, near Gate No 3 of the Assembly precincts. While one report notes they were released on bond, another details that the suspension was adopted unanimously by the House following a resolution moved by Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu.

The resolution condemned the members for their utterances and for removing their t-shirts in public before women, which the resolution stated amounts to an outrage of the modesty of the women present. Additionally, the resolution demanded that BRS leader K. Chandrashekhar Rao take responsibility for the conduct of his party members and tender an unconditional apology to the Speaker to maintain institutional integrity. In response to the suspension, other BRS MLCs protested by raising slogans against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy outside the House.

How each side framed it
