  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Uber Technologies announced on Wednesday that it will eliminate approximately 3,300 jobs, representing about 10 percent of its global workforce. This marks the company's largest round of layoffs since the pandemic. According to an internal email from CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, the restructuring aims to simplify the company's organizational health by reducing hierarchical levels and consolidating teams. Specifically, the number of managers will be reduced by 20 percent, and the company will reduce the number of small micro teams. The reorganization will particularly affect technology, science, and delivery structures. As part of these changes, Uber is also restricting remote work, with only about 1 percent of employees permitted to work entirely from home while most others must return to the office at least three days a week. The company intends to reinvest the resulting savings into growth and innovation, with a significant focus on autonomous mobility and robotaxis. Uber had approximately 34,000 employees worldwide at the end of last year. Following the announcement, the company's stock rose 2 percent.
