President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces struck the Progress Rocket and Space Center in the Samara region of Russia. The facility, which is part of the Roscosmos group and involved in electronics production for the satellite and missile industry, is located approximately 700 to 900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Zelenskyy stated that Flamingo missiles were used in the attack. Local officials in Samara, including Governor Viatcheslav Fedorichtchev and Mayor Ivan Noskov, confirmed a missile attack on an industrial enterprise, with Noskov describing it as a massive attack that caused localized damage.
In addition to the Samara strike, President Zelenskyy claimed that Ukrainian forces hit the Savasleika military airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod region and an oil facility in Ust Luga. Reports from the Leningrad region indicated that firefighters fought blazes at the Ust Luga oil export port. Meanwhile, Russian officials reported separate drone attacks in other regions. In the Moscow region, drones reportedly struck a private home in Shatura, injuring a woman and a child. Other reported drone activity occurred in the Penza, Rostov, Tula, Voronezh, and Yaroslavl regions.
Russian defense officials also reported their own strikes within Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Geran drones hit targets in the Chernihiv oblast, including a gas station, an electrical substation, and a drone storage site. Ukrainian officials reported a separate Russian drone attack on agricultural equipment in the Zaporizhzhia oblast that killed one man and injured another.
