Ukrainian Drone Attacks Target Moscow Region

Ukrainian forces launched a major overnight attack targeting the Moscow region, with reports indicating over 600 drones flew over the area. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that more than 200 drones were destroyed in the region and at least three people were injured. Emergency services were deployed to locations where debris fell.

Reports from monitoring channels indicate that the strikes targeted logistics and industrial sites. A fire broke out at a Wildberries warehouse in the village of Koledino, and the Severnoye Domodedovo production and logistics complex was set ablaze. Strikes and air defense activity were also reported in the town of Chekhov. Wildberries is a major Russian online retailer that lists military equipment on its website and whose banking arm was sanctioned by the EU in July.

Simultaneously, Russian forces conducted attacks within Ukraine. In Kryvyi Rig, a combined strike of ballistic missiles and drones killed one woman and injured six people, hitting two industrial sites. In Kyiv, ballistic missile attacks caused fires in non residential areas and injured one person. Kremenchuk was also reported as a target, though specific details on casualties were not provided.

Both sources frame the Ukrainian strikes as part of a broader strategy to target Russian military, industrial, and logistics infrastructure deep within Russian territory. One source notes that these attacks are a response to Russia's continuous bombing of Ukrainian cities and infrastructure since the full scale invasion began in 2022.
