US Increases Economic and Military Pressure on Iran Amid Regional Tension

The United States has implemented a new, aggressive sanctions regime and resumed military strikes against Iran to isolate the government and sever its economic lifelines. The Trump administration has launched a campaign, referred to as Economic D-Day by some and Operation Economic Outcast by others, aimed at cutting off trade and financial ties.
