Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

Two US lawmakers have introduced a House resolution to designate September 4 as Taekwondo Grandmasters Appreciation Day. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican from Pennsylvania, and Rep. Madeleine Dean, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, submitted the resolution to the lower chamber on Thursday.

The resolution states that taekwondo and its grandmasters provide physical and mental benefits to many people across the United States. It further notes that the martial art emphasizes character and mental discipline through the tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. According to the text, the title of grandmaster is reserved for the most respected, experienced, and highest ranking practitioners of the art, which is practiced by 80 million people worldwide.

September 4 was designated as International Taekwondo Day by South Korea in 2008. This date commemorates the day taekwondo became an Olympic sport on September 4, 1994.
