Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

U.S. Representative and Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany and his pilot suffered minor injuries after their plane made an emergency landing in Lake Wausau on Saturday night. Tiffany reported that the Beechcraft K35 aircraft lost power while approaching the Wausau Downtown Airport during a return trip from a campaign event in La Crosse County. After the plane landed in the water and began to sink, both men exited the aircraft and swam to a shallow area where they waited for rescue teams to arrive by boat. Tiffany was treated at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for minor injuries, which included stitches above his right eye. At a news conference on Sunday, Tiffany stated that the incident would not deter his campaign to become the governor of Wisconsin. His Democratic opponent, David Crowley, expressed relief that no one was seriously injured and praised the heroism of the pilot.
