- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Xpeng's robotics subsidiary, Dogotix, has been valued at over $6.3 billion after raising $900 million in a record funding round. According to Xpeng, this represents the largest single private equity deal for a Chinese robotics manufacturer. The funding includes $600 million from backers such as Alibaba, Tencent, IDG, and Gaorong Ventures, while Xpeng pledged an additional $200 million.
CEO He Xiaopeng stated that the company aims to become a global leader in physical AI and spearhead the commercialization of general purpose humanoid robots. In a separate financial update, Xpeng reported that its second quarter net loss widened 179 percent from a year ago to 1.34 billion yuan, or approximately $199.4 million, as research and development costs rose by 32.1 percent. Revenue for the period increased 8 percent to 19.7 billion yuan.
While center leaning coverage focused on the valuation and the record nature of the funding, center right leaning coverage framed the event as a strategic move by Xpeng to challenge Tesla in the field of embodied AI.
