  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Zheng Qinwen defeated former champion Iga Swiatek 7-5, 6-3 to reach the US Open quarter-finals. In a rare feat, Zheng won the match after trailing 5-0 in the opening set, marking the second consecutive match in which she erased a 5-0 deficit. In her previous round, she overcame a 5-0 deficit in the deciding set against Madison Keys. Zheng, the 23-year-old Olympic champion, will next face second seed Elena Rybakina, who advanced by defeating Naomi Osaka 6-1, 6-4.

Zheng entered the tournament as a qualifier after struggling with form following elbow surgery in July 2025, which saw her ranking drop outside the top 100. This victory is her seventh consecutive win in New York. For Swiatek, the loss marks the first time since 2021 that she will end a calendar year without winning one of the four major titles. Swiatek attributed the loss to making mistakes on easy balls rather than mental struggles.

Other results include French Open winner Mirra Andreeva reaching the quarter-finals for the first time after defeating Anastasia Potapova 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. In the men's draw, 28th seed Alexander Blockx reached his first grand slam quarter-final by beating Francisco Cerundolo 6-3, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.
