  • A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.

Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The novel Paixão Simples by French author and 2022 Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux has been adapted into a play premiering this Friday, September 28, at Sesc Santana in São Paulo. Directed by Alessandra Colasanti and starring Aline Fanju, the monologue depicts a woman experiencing an overwhelming passion for a younger married man. Other notable theatrical debuts in the city include A Filha da... a comedy featuring Regina Duarte and Gabriela Duarte about a woman obsessed with Princess Diana who accidentally kills her husband. Additionally, the musical Legalmente Loira follows Elle Woods as she challenges stereotypes at Harvard Law School. The city will also see the return of Baal, a Bertolt Brecht play re-staged by Teatro do Incêndio, and Nossa Conquista, a production exploring colonialism and the black diaspora at Sesc Ipiranga. Finally, Super Ela features Flávia Reis as a superhero discussing the challenges of being a woman in society.
