Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.

Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.

Two orbiters successfully separated from their mother ship on Thursday as part of the BepiColombo mission to explore Mercury. The maneuver was monitored by the European Space Agency (ESA) control center in Darmstadt, Germany, located more than 200 million kilometers from Earth. This operation follows a voyage that has lasted eight years. The mission is a collaboration between the ESA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), with the ESA stating the project costs 1.7 billion euros.

The two orbiters remain linked for now. They are expected to be captured by the gravity of Mercury in November and will separate from each other in December. By March, they are scheduled to arrive in their designated elliptical orbits. One orbiter will utilize a camera, a heat radiation sensor, and laser and X-ray beams. The second orbiter will measure the magnetic field and study the effects of solar wind. Scientific analysis of the data is expected to begin in April, with researchers hoping to gain insights into the formation of Earth.

While both reports focus on the technical success of the mission, they differ in tone. One center-right source emphasizes the technical specifications and the scientific goals of the research. Another center-right source highlights the emotional tension of the event, noting a two hour wait for confirmation and quoting a lead scientist who called it a brilliant moment.
