- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.
Every outlet covering this story shares the same political lean; read with that in mind.
Beyoncé has donated one million dollars to provide immediate food and housing supplies to the areas most affected by a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10. Her company, Parkwood Entertainment, confirmed that the funds will be channeled through humanitarian organizations including Food For The Poor and World Central Kitchen, an organization founded by chef José Andrés. The disaster, which had its epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó, resulted in 331 deaths, 4,439 injuries, 240 missing persons, and 364 rescues, according to the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD).
Other public figures have also contributed to the recovery efforts. Shakira announced plans to rebuild the Technological University of Chocó and, in partnership with philanthropist Howard Graham Buffett and the Pies Descalzos Foundation, will support the construction of ten new schools in Chocó. Additionally, Global Citizen and Live Nation have committed resources totaling one million dollars for school reconstruction. Other figures, including footballer Lamine Yamal and artist Ryan Castro, have also announced their support via social media.
Beyoncé has a history of philanthropy through her BeyGood Foundation and the Shawn Carter Foundation. Past contributions include support for Nelson Mandela's foundation against AIDS in 2003, housing for victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2006, and a 2.5 million dollar donation to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund in 2025.
