Cause of Death Revealed for Actor Tim Curry

British actor Tim Curry died at the age of 80 on August 25 at his residence in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles. Official documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health revealed that the cause of death was coronary artery disease. The death certificate also listed a 2012 stroke and kidney cancer as significant contributing conditions, although neither was the underlying cause. It was further noted that Curry had not undergone surgery for either of those two conditions.

Curry was widely recognized for his roles as Pennywise in the 1990 television adaptation of It and as Dr. Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He also appeared in films such as Clue, Legend, Annie, and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Following a severe stroke in July 2012, which occurred while he was receiving a massage, Curry suffered significant mobility issues and used a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. Despite these challenges, he continued to work in voice acting and maintained contact with fans through conventions and virtual meetings.

In 2025, Curry published his memoirs titled Vagabond. He also appeared at the Academy Museum of Los Angeles for the 50th anniversary of his most emblematic work, where he spoke candidly and with humor about his physical limitations.
