Coca-Cola and Unilever have recorded significant increases in sales volumes and raised their revenue projections following extensive marketing campaigns during the World Cup. Coca-Cola reported a 5% increase in beverage sales volumes for the quarter, with traditional Coca-Cola volume rising by 5% and Powerade increasing by 8%. The company's net revenue grew 7% to $13.4 billion, while net profit rose 16% to $4.4 billion, exceeding analyst estimates. Coca-Cola has since raised its annual comparable profit projections to between 9% and 10% and expects underlying revenue growth of 5%.

Unilever saw underlying sales grow by 5.8% in the second quarter, driven by a 5.5% increase in volume, marking its best quarterly performance since 2010. The company promoted 35 personal care brands—including Dove, Rexona, and Axe—across 120 countries using 50,000 influencers. In Brazil and Argentina, sales for these brands grew by double digits. Unilever has updated its annual sales growth projection to a range of 4% to 6% and increased its projected volume growth to 3%. The company's underlying operating profit for the first half of the year was 5.2 billion euros.

Marketing strategies included Coca-Cola's sponsorship of mid-game "hydration breaks" and a pre-tournament trophy tour, as well as Unilever's placement of Rexona branding on referee uniforms and substitution panels. Additionally, Coca-Cola utilized QR codes on packaging to collect over 25 million data records for future personalized marketing. Analysts from Barclays noted that summer heatwaves likely contributed alongside the marketing blitz to benefit Coca-Cola in the third quarter.

Despite a major corruption scandal involving FIFA in 2015, the tournament continues to attract large corporate sponsorships. Reports indicate FIFA plans to sell a significant minority stake in a new commercial entity valued at approximately $20 billion. Following these results, shares for both companies rose, with Unilever increasing 7.7% on the London Stock Exchange and Coca-Cola rising 6.3% in New York.
