Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) planned a protest at the Parliament Street Police Station in Delhi on Friday at 10 am to demand action against Swatantra Bhardwaj. The protest follows an alleged assault on Sanjay Kumar, the father of CJP activist Nishu Azad, during a June protest at Jantar Mantar. Bhardwaj, described as a Hindutva influencer, posted a video claiming he broke Kumar's skull and avoided jail due to political connections with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das and co-convener Ashutosh Ranka called for justice, alleging that police refused to file an attempt to murder charge under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code despite the severity of the injury. Delhi Police have disputed these claims, stating that the injury was simple in nature and caused by a metal bangle during a scuffle. Police officials described the claim of a cracked skull as baseless misinformation and stated that Bhardwaj and another man were detained and interrogated. While the police deny political interference and say a chargesheet will be filed soon, CJP members allege that the police are protecting Bhardwaj.
