- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.
The owner of each outlet is listed as a matter of record, not as a judgement about the outlet.

The Congress party announced a major organizational reshuffle on Saturday, appointing Sachin Pilot as the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of Punjab. The move replaces Bhupesh Baghel, who has been reassigned as the general secretary in-charge of Assam. The changes were made by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and announced by general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal.
The appointment of Pilot comes amid intense factionalism within the Punjab unit between former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and the state Congress president, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring. Reports indicate that Channi had been seeking the removal of Warring, while Baghel had previously submitted a report to the high command suggesting that no leadership change was necessary. Channi welcomed the decision as an important move, while Warring praised Baghel as a guide and mentor.
Beyond Punjab, the party appointed Randeep Singh Surjewala as the general secretary in-charge of Gujarat, while he retains additional responsibility for Karnataka. Other appointments include Sukhdeo Bhagat for Chhattisgarh, Sirivella Prasad for Maharashtra, and P.V. Mohan for Andhra Pradesh. The party also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing leaders Jitendra Singh, Ramesh Chennithala, and Manickam Tagore.
The reshuffle is viewed as a strategic move ahead of upcoming elections, including the Punjab Assembly polls scheduled for early 2027 and elections in Gujarat next year. The internal discord in Punjab had reportedly delayed a proposed political yatra by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
How each side framed it
- Centre-left
- Framed the reshuffle as a reset button to contain factionalism and a reward for Surjewala's management of the Karnataka leadership transition.
- Centre
- Framed the event as a strategic replacement of a troubleshooter to resolve a specific power struggle between Channi and Warring.
- Centre-right
- Framed the move as a response to internal discord and a strained relationship between Baghel and Channi that had created an impasse.
