- A hatched block means the outlet is affiliated with, or controlled by, a state.
Political lean describes where an outlet sits within the politics of its own country. It is never a position on a single global scale.
Political lean is comparable inside one country and not across them, which is why the bar groups by country first. Publicly funded broadcasters are not marked as state-linked.

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has spread to a new province. According to reports, the virus has reached the northwestern province of Sud Ubangi, marking the seventh province affected. In this region, a man died in the city of Gwaka after having traveled from the eastern province of South Kivu via Rwanda and Uganda. Authorities expect a large number of potential contact persons due to this travel history.
Government data indicates that 6,942 people have been infected and 3,349 have died during this current outbreak, which is the 17th Ebola outbreak in the country. This event is noted as the second largest Ebola outbreak ever recorded. One source reports that infections have topped 7,000.
The World Health Organization has warned that current treatment capacities are insufficient. There are currently 1,400 beds across 59 treatment centers, but an additional 1,600 beds are needed. The number of nursing staff also needs to increase from approximately 4,000 to 9,000. To address this, some of the 1,500 survivors are being trained for use in treatment centers. The WHO notes that a 50 bed treatment center costs approximately 500,000 dollars, excluding ongoing costs for protective clothing and equipment.
