Forward Everton Cebolinha is close to joining Santos after arriving in São Paulo on Tuesday night. The 30 year old athlete was received at Congonhas Airport by director Alexandre Mattos and was seen wearing a Santos shirt. He is expected to sign a loan contract until the end of 2026, with a possible two year extension. This move follows the end of his cycle at Flamengo, where he did not travel with the delegation to Ecuador for a Copa Libertadores match against Independiente del Valle. Flamengo technical director José Boto stated that Cebolinha excluded himself from the club by choosing not to renew his contract. Boto noted that Flamengo placed the player at disposal to facilitate his departure, provided certain conditions were met for domestic transfers. Santos is also evaluating the signing of Philippe Coutinho at the request of Neymar. Coutinho has been without a club since February after leaving Vasco. Cebolinha joins a list of recent Santos reinforcements that includes Arthur, Lima, and Rodinei.
